Inside the Cozumel airport you’ll find taxi shuttle booths offering transportation to any destination on the island for a reasonable price. You can also reserve a private or shared taxi now by emailing us here and your taxi will be waiting for you at the airport. Another option is to rent a car at the airport which can easily be done online at most major car rental companies. If you do rent a car, all you need to do is get a printed local guide of the island to find your way around. Driving in Cozumel is very easy.

For many people traveling to the Cancun airport is much easier since there are many more direct flight options with a more flexible time schedule. The Cancun international airport offers direct flights from most Latin American, North American, and European cities around the world. Once you land in the Cancun airport you will be inside a newly built and modern facility that welcomes thousands of tourists per day.

There are two options to travel to Cozumel from the Cancun airport, depending on your time schedule and budget each option is simple and easy to access from inside the Cancun airport.
Option 1: Taxi Van. You will find many taxi options both inside and outside the airport.
Option 2: Take a bus from the airport. This is the most economical option.
This two options would leave you at the Playa Del Carmen pier to Cozumel where you would then need to take a 30 minute ferry ride to get to Cozumel.

There are modern buses from ADO which is Mexico’s largest bus operator that can take you from Cancun to Playa Del Carmen, where you can then take the short ferry ride to Cozumel. Fare is about $10usd per person. The ride takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on rush hour. In Playa Del Carmen the ferry pier is located 2 blocks away from the ADO bus terminal.

Once you arrive to Playa Del Carmen getting to Cozumel is just 30 minutes away. The ferry departs as early as 6:00am from Cozumel coming and going hourly as late as 10:00pm from Playa Del Carmen.

You may buy your tickets right before you depart or you can purchase them in advance at the website below. Space on the boats is ample so you don’t have to worry about availability. In most boats you can also sit outside and enjoy the Caribbean scenery. There will be no problems for you to bring your bike case on the boat and if your bike is already assembled they will just ask you to secure it in the rear section of the boat. The approximate cost for a round-trip Playa Del Carmen - Cozumel - Playa Del Carmen is about $20USD per person.
